The two pivots of our philosophy of intervention:
Ethics and transparency

FIRST OF ALL WE PROTECT OUR PATIENTS BY COMPLYING WITH THE ETHICAL DIMENSION

Gercor physicians keep to Good Clinical Practices and rigorously comply with the principles laid down by the Huriet law passed on December 20, 1988, concerning the protection of persons volunteering for biomedical research

  • The patient signs an enlightened consent form before she or he is included in the treatment concerned.
    The doctor must inform her or him beforehand in a clear, intelligible and honest way about:
    • the goals, the method and the duration of the research,
    • the risk/benefit analysis,
    • her/his rights analysis: the patient may refuse to participate in the treatment which is offered to her/him or has the right to suspend participation at any time without this having any consequence for her/his relationship with the doctor responsible,
    • the consent of the ethics committee.

  • Gercor takes out the necessary insurance policies that guarantee its public liability with respect to medical research.

  • The final protocol passes through the approval of the CCPPRB, the French consultative committees on the protection of persons in biomedical research. A CCPPRB is made up of 12 members (eight
    from scientific fields and four not related to science), appointed by the State representative in the jurisdiction covered by the committee (the regional or county [i.e., of the department] division of social and public health affairs, or DRASS/DDASS).
    The members perform their mission completely independently and half the members are reappointed every three years

OUR CODE OF ETHICS WITH REGARD TO OUR PARTNERS
RELIES ON RIGOR AND TRANSPARENCY IN ALLOCATING OUR RESOURCES

The grants and subsidies but also or as well as the financial amounts linked to partnership that Gercor receives are used exclusively for financing clinical research:

  • the decision to allocate the funds is done on a consensus basis;
  • the funds received are never used to cover any personal costs or to gain individual advantage for a particular member or group of members;
  • great rigor is applied in the management of operating costs
